I always love Scott as a singer because he was like me in that he didn't add a ton of reverb or other effect to his voice when performing live. I do think it's always been amazing the difference between is recorded and live voice. I always expected more power live. It's a shame we lose so many of the good ones to the monkey on their backs.

I was a huge STP fan but unfortunately never got to see them. I was an early Velvet Revolver fan. The first time I got to see them live was at Oak Mountain Amphitheater in Pelham, Al in October 2007. Unfortunately the STP Weiland was far gone by then. The concert made a local list of the 30 worst concerts in Birmingham history. It’s sad about the only thing I can remember about it is when he walked out on stage he was so overweight and wearing a long purple fur coat. He was mumbling half the words and barely singing the rest. I was so disappointed. We left halfway through the set. The band split with him shortly after that in 2008.
